"Simple yet deep is this devotional. Unlike many of the daily devotional books out there (and not being critical of them) which give 30 days, 60 days or another measured time period of what may (or may not) be loosely linked thoughts, this one delves into the thought and background of each verse as it systematically drives through the thoughts and when the epistle is done, the book is finished. Each verse or short, concise passage is explored as it is; linked to other Scriptures; both Old and New Testament, as appropriate; and has a practical application given for each meditation.
As I neared the end of the book, I wanted to slow down so I could stay within it longer. It's likely that I will return to this book again after a period of thought and reflection and get a fresh lesson from each day's reading."

"This book will speak to so many different people: the spiritual inquirer, those seeking assurance of their Christian faith, the long-time believer seeking to deepen their faith-walk. “Certainty” is not a commentary per-se, but a verse-by-verse devotional journey through the Apostle John’s first epistle. It is written in an easy to understand style, yet profound in its thought-provoking richness. I have been reading chapters aloud to my wife and we both are enjoying it immensely. Whether you are seeking to encounter Jesus for the first time or a struggling believer (is there any other kind?), you’ll be glad you picked this up. I know I’ll be returning to this treasure for years to come."

I found CERTAINTY: Meditations on I John a clear presentation of the promise of certainty in this very uncertain world. Whether the reader is a seeker or a long-time believer in Christianity, this book will be helpful. The seeker will discover the basic truths of Christianity and God's plan to bring us to Himself by His love and grace. Questions about living the Christian life will be answered as the reader continues through the book
Regardless of how long one has been a believer, moments of doubt can creep in. It is hard for our finite minds to understand God's infiniteness, but He wants to answers our questions. The Biblical book of I John reminds us many times of God's love and plans for us. The word know is used 30 times in the book of I John! CERTAINTY allows us to meditate on God's desire to remove doubts and cause us to grow in faith.
